My daily reading brought me to this page and one amazing discovery - how yoga practice affects the lives of breast cancer survivors.
With all the modern methods in treating the disease as well as the side effects of treatment, it is so amazing that what yogis enjoy doing can actually improve the quality of life of those people who survived a disease that is the leading and second leading cause of death in the developed and developing countries respectively.

Top Yoga Quotes...Ever!
I love quotes. I find so much inspiration in them. I have a couple books of quotations, and when I’m having an especially trying day, I pick up one of these books, turn to a random page and read the quote on that page. And almost always, the words lift my spirit up instantly and carry me throughout the day.
I have collected a few yoga quotes over the years, and here are 38…

Do you ever struggle with stillness? Do you find it challenging to have an empty mind? Do you find it difficult to meditate? I certainly do. I ask myself why – why is it arduous sometimes to clear my mind and sit with stillness? I found this quote:
"Man finds nothing so intolerable as to…

ADVICE TO SOMEONE NEW TO YOGA
“My advice to someone who is new to yoga is to sample a variety of classes to find one that fits your needs – both your physical condition and schedule, so that you don’t experience any injuries or time constraints. Chakra Balancing leads to "The Chakra Diaries"
Leading Chakra Workshops came out of my work doing Yoga Health Retreats in Hawaii, starting 10 years ago. At the end of every yoga class, we would finish with a chakra meditation. Often, after class, my students would want to discuss specific problems in their lives that were clearly related to one chakra or another. So, in addition to using chakra meditations in my yoga classes, I decided to try 8-week chakra workshops for local students. Each week, we would focus on balancing one of…

If today were the last day of your life...
It's raining and grey outside...what a perfect day to catch up on email, update the United Yogis website, do laundry and clean my place before friends come over later. I was surfing the Internet and came across a Steve Jobs quote he made in 2007:
When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in…

Yoga Sutra 1.3
Then the Seer abides in its own nature.
The brief moments when we are truly present represent the seer. When we are completely comfortable in our own skin, yet have deepened our awareness pass the skin into the raw layers of who we really are. We no longer identify ourselves with the…
